Janis Kahentóktha Monture appointed Executive Director & CEO of the Canadian Museums Association

The Canadian Museums Association and Woodland Cultural Centre are excited to jointly announce that Janis Kahentóktha Monture has been appointed as the Executive Director & CEO of the Canadian Museums Association. Ms. Monture is currently serving as Executive Director of the Woodland Cultural Centre (WCC), one of the largest facilities in Canada managed and administered by a First Nation and a CMA member since 1986.

Ms. Monture is a member of the Mohawk Nation, Turtle Clan from Six Nations of the Grand River and comes to the CMA as a highly skilled and experienced leader. She has additionally served on the steering committee for the Great Lakes Research Alliance for the Study of Aboriginal Arts and Cultures (GRASAC), and twice as a guest artistic director at Harbourfront Centre, a leading contemporary arts organization in Toronto.
