Biography
Member of GRASAC, who uses the GKS for research purposes, has contributed to GKS records, and has attended GRASAC research conferences.
I research and teach in the areas of collections management, museum and indigenous relations, material culture, cultural property and repatriation, and lifecycles of political activism in museums. Recently, I have been part of a partnership with First Story Toronto at the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto, providing hands-on artifact-focused programming for Cree and Anishinaabe seniors living in Toronto. We visited a range of collections in Toronto, as well as the Smithsonian’s Natural History and Museum of the American Indian, and Canadian Museum of History. Previously, I worked with the Haida Repatriation Committee and Pitt Rivers Museum (Oxford, UK) to facilitate hands-on access to Haida collections in the UK. I am interested in helping expand community-access and usage, as well as public awareness, of GRASAC.
