Biography

I’ve participated in GRASAC as a research assistant since 2009, and have grown personally and professionally along with the project.

As a PhD student at Columbia University I studied Native American art under Professor Elizabeth Hutchinson. My research looks to museum collections to reclaim a severed connection to Anishinaabe makers and foremothers. In learning closely from their weaving, quilling, and other life-giving arts, we retrace the paths of their hands; honoring the dead as we take up their work for the living.
